chapter 01 - wedding photographer branding - The brief

She'd built something remarkable under a name that was starting to hold her back.

For ten years, Laura built her business under the name Freeformimages Photography. It carried her through over seven hundred weddings and a career she was proud of. But due to frequent misspellings the name itself had become a source of friction. It said nothing about the person behind the camera. Laura's work grew and matured, but the name and visual branding stayed put, and eventually felt like it was holding her back.

She wanted to approach venues she admired, the kind of aspirational spaces that would put her in front of a different calibre of couple. But her branding didn't feel like it belonged in that world, and until it did, she wasn't ready to put herself forward. What should have been an exciting next step in her career instead became something she avoided.

This project needed more than a logo update. It asked for Laura to step out from behind a name that had outgrown its usefulness, into one that represented her fully. Ten years in, she didn't need reinventing. Instead, she needed her business to finally look and sound like the person who'd been running it all along.

chapter 02 - The vision

More of what her couples already fall for, built into every part of the brand.

Three visual themes, pulled directly from the landscape that shaped Laura as a person and a photographer.

A bride and groom embrace outdoors, smiling lovingly in wedding attire—perfect inspiration for authentic wedding photographer branding.
one

Golden Hour

The soft glow of a Devon evening, filtered through hedgerow and coastal light exactly the way Laura sees it on the paths she walks every week. It's the first thing a client feels before they read a single word.

A groom lifts a laughing bride in her veil; both radiate joy—perfect for wedding photographer branding in black and white.
two

Quietly Yours

The promise underneath every wedding day: no trends, no pressure, no performance to keep up. Just each couple's day, told entirely in their own way, start to finish.

three

Deeply Felt

The emotion that runs through everything Laura shoots, from a first look to the instant a moment becomes a memory. This theme keeps feeling at the centre of the brand, always.

chapter 03 - The build

The details that let Laura's brand speak before she does.

A serif wordmark carries the new name, its curves and connecting ligatures giving it a sense of movement, echoing the coastlines that shaped so much of the brand.

It sits within a palette that pairs a deep, grounded navy with warmer terracotta and blush tones, giving the brand enough depth to feel considered without losing the warmth that makes her work recognisable.

A woman in a dress and bow shoes stands on wood floor; wedding photographer branding shines through floral, shell, and sun art.

A hand-illustrated poppy sits at the heart of the monogram, a flower Laura notices often along the North Devon coastline. It gives the brand a sense of place, tied to somewhere she actually knows and moves through.

Waves, a shell, and a sunrise breaking over a headland run through the supporting marks, each pulled from the landscape Laura loves. Together, every element was built to do one job: let a venue, a couple, or a fellow photographer look at Laura Marie Photography and immediately get a sense of who she is, before she's said a word.

chapter 04 - The aretta effect

Wedding photographer branding that matches the level the business is already working at.

Laura Marie Photography now looks and feels like the person who has been running it all along. The name change marks a decade of experience Laura has every right to be proud of, and the identity around it gives her the confidence to approach the venues she has long admired, knowing her brand finally belongs in that room too.

The confidence to raise your prices

A brand that reflects the level you're working at makes it easier to hold your prices with conviction. Fewer weddings, better paid, becomes a realistic goal rather than a wish.

Confidence to approach the room you've been circling

The venues and opportunities you've been holding back from no longer feel out of reach. Your brand finally speaks the same language they do.

A consistent presence people trust

The same story, the same visual language, everywhere a potential client finds you. That consistency is what builds trust before you've even spoken.

Enquiries from the right kind of couple

When your brand speaks clearly to who you actually want to work with, the people who reach out already understand your style, your prices, and why you're the one they want.

“She hasn't just created a beautiful brand for me, she has helped me gain so much more confidence in my business and the direction I want to take it.”
